Western District Contributes $10,550 for the Pan Arcadian Hospital in Tripolis
Western District Contributes $10,550 for the Pan Arcadian Hospital in Tripolis
July 19, 2020
Hello Western District PFA Members,
A check in the amount of $10,550 has been sent to Pan Arcadian Federation of America National Headquarters. This Is money the PFA Western District collected from the chapters and will be used toward the purchase of much needed medical equipment for the Pan Arcadian Hospital in Tripolis, Greece.
HISTORY: The WD had requested each chapter to give a donation toward the Food Bank in Tripolis, Greece. When it was discovered that there was not an organized food bank to give this money to, the delegates decided to re-allocate this money and give it to the hospital in Tripolis.
The Hospital is an ongoing project of the PFA and money is always needed. Donations from chapters, individuals, church, and community groups are essential. A current National Fundraising letter has been sent to all chapter Presidents and Secretaries to share with members.
Thank you for your support and commitment to the Hospital and the PFA.
Hopefully you are all doing well.
Take care.
Stay safe.

Mezzo-soprano Christina Alexopoulos Performing Maurice Ravel’s “Five Greek Folk Songs”
April 5, 2020
Fellow Arcadians,
I hope that you and your loved ones are doing well during these very difficult times.
First, we must have the discipline to follow the recommendations of the "health experts" for taking the right precautions so we can stay healthy.
Second, we must have the strength to fight this pandemic and take the time to appreciate and value our families and friends. We are fortunate that our Arcadian ancestors organized the Pan-Arcadian Federation of America (PFA) and gave us this opportunity to continue our cultural connections across the globe. One such connection is the talented young lady of Arcadian descent, Mezzo-soprano Christina Alexopoulos, who is the daughter of Dr. Nicolaos and Susie Alexopoulos, residing in Southern California. Many of you have met Dr. Alexopoulos at the last Alosis tis Tripoleos (September 2019) at Saint John's in Anaheim, CA where he was our keynote speaker.
The site below takes you to a youtube video where, Mezzo-soprano Christina Alexopoulos, accompanied by pianist Cheryl Lin Fielding, performs Maurice Ravel’s “Five Greek Folk Songs” (Cinq mélodies populaires grecques) at St. James‘ concert of Rachmaninoff’s Piano Concerto No. 3 on Oct. 27, 2019 in Newport Beach, CA.
I hope you take the time to enjoy this beautiful performance by Christina Alexopoulos and pass it to your friends as well.
With American-Arcadian pride and best wishes for staying healthy,
Konstantinos V. Kapogianis
